§Product

Everything a plant runs on, joined at the ledger.

Fortress ERP is one application, not a bundle of acquisitions. Production, inventory, purchase, sales, quality and finance share one database, one set of masters and one audit trail, so a number entered at the gate is the same number the auditor sees.

AHow it fits together

Follow one order all the way round.

A quote becomes a sales order and reserves stock. MRP sees the shortfall and raises a requisition. The PO is received at the gate, inspected and matched. Production consumes the material and books labour and scrap. Dispatch ships, the invoice posts to receivables, and each step has already written its own journal lines.

That's why month-end in Fortress is a review, not a reconstruction.

Module 01

Manufacturing & Production

Plan it, run it, cost it.

From bill of materials to finished stock: production orders that reserve material, backflush or issue it, log labour and machine time, record scrap and by-products, and close with a cost summary and variance.

  • Multi-level BOMs and routings with controlled engineering changes
  • MRP that turns sales demand and reorder points into make or buy suggestions
  • Finite scheduler, planning board and a Kanban status board
  • Work centers, machines, shift calendars, downtime reasons and OEE
  • Subcontracting of outsourced operations
  • Lot traceability from raw material to dispatched goods
  • Your terminology: call it a Work Order, Job Card or Batch

Module 02

Inventory & Warehousing

Know what you have, and where.

Live on-hand, reserved and available quantity per warehouse, bin, lot and serial number, with a movement ledger behind every number and a reversal for every mistake.

  • Multiple plants, warehouses and bin locations
  • Lots and batches with expiry, hold and quarantine
  • FIFO, FEFO and costing method per item
  • Transfer orders between warehouses and plants
  • Cycle counts with approval before adjustments post
  • Reservations from sales orders, production orders and manual holds
  • Bulk adjustments and Excel import for opening stock

Module 03

Purchase & Procurement

Pay for what arrived, at the price you agreed.

Requisitions to purchase orders to goods receipts to vendor invoices, with a three-way match that stops price and quantity leaks before payment, not after the audit.

  • Requisitions, consolidation and automatic requisitions from MRP
  • Approval rules and segregation of duties on POs
  • Over-receipt allowance and blind receipts at the gate
  • Three-way match with price and quantity tolerances
  • Match exceptions queue with reasoned overrides
  • Vendor payments, payment runs and AP ageing
  • Lead time and on-time delivery per vendor
Module 04

Sales & Distribution

Quote to cash, without the chasing.

Quotes become orders, orders reserve stock, shipments issue it, invoices post to receivables, and receipts close the loop, with credit notes and returns handled properly.

  • Quotes, sales orders, backorders and partial shipments
  • Discount limits per user with approval above the limit
  • Shipments, invoices and recurring invoices
  • Returns (RMA) and credit notes
  • Receipts, allocations and an AR dashboard with ageing
  • Customer groups, price lists and special prices
  • Branded PDF documents with your logo and terms
Module 05

Quality Management

Catch it at the gate, fix it at the root.

Inspection plans fire automatically on receipt or production. A failed inspection raises a non-conformance and puts the lot on hold. CAPAs take care of the cause.

  • Inspection plans with sampling and checkpoints
  • Receiving and in-process inspections, created automatically
  • Non-conformance reports with disposition: return, rework, scrap or use as is
  • Corrective and preventive actions with effectiveness review
  • Quality holds that block a lot from being used
  • Quality dashboard by severity and due date

Module 06

Finance & Accounting

The books write themselves. Mostly.

Double-entry general ledger fed automatically by every receipt, issue, shipment and invoice. GST and other taxes come from tax codes with dated rates, so a rate change never rewrites history.

  • Multi-level chart of accounts and posting accounts
  • Automatic subledger postings from operations
  • GST-ready tax engine with jurisdictions, codes and dated rates
  • Journals, recurring journals and reversals
  • Fiscal periods with locks to prevent back-dated changes
  • Bank accounts and bank reconciliation
  • Dimensions (cost centre, project, plant) on every line
  • Multi-currency with exchange rates

Module 07

Reporting & Analytics

Answers, not exports.

A cross-module dashboard, ready-made reports for every module, statutory statements and a four-step report builder. Save any report and have it emailed every Monday.

  • Customisable dashboard per user, with a company default
  • Sales, inventory, purchase and production reports
  • Balance sheet, income statement, cash flow, trial balance
  • AR and AP ageing
  • Ad-hoc report builder: source, dimensions, measures, filters
  • Scheduled reports by email as PDF, Excel or CSV
Module 08

Pricing

One price, decided once.

Price lists by customer and group, special prices, price history and a simulator that shows what a customer will be charged before you quote.

  • Price lists with validity dates
  • Customer and group pricing
  • Special prices and discounts
  • Price history and a price simulator
Module 09

Budgeting & Fixed Assets

Plan the year. Depreciate the press.

Budget scenarios, transfers and variance against actuals. A fixed asset register with scheduled depreciation runs that post to the ledger.

  • Budget scenarios with approval
  • Budget transfers between plants and accounts
  • Variance reports against actuals
  • Asset register and depreciation runs
Module 10

Platform & Administration

Fits how you work, not the other way round.

The parts that make an ERP liveable: import from Excel, custom fields, your own numbering, webhooks into other systems, background jobs, notifications and a full audit history.

  • Import centre for masters and opening balances from spreadsheets
  • Custom fields and document branding
  • Numbering sequences per document type and plant
  • Outbound webhooks and a documented REST API
  • Email notifications and background jobs
  • Audit history on every document
  • English, Hindi and Marathi interface
  • Contextual help on every screen and Ctrl+K search
Companion app

Shop-floor app

Big buttons. Scan first. No tables.

A companion app for Android phones, rugged scanners and Windows or Linux kiosks, for the people who never sit at a desk: scan a SKU to see stock, receive against a PO with a weighing scale or numpad, and count bins one line at a time.

  • Stock inquiry by barcode scan
  • Receive against a PO, with scale or numpad quantity
  • Cycle counts one line at a time
  • Same sign-in, roles and audit trail as the web app
For your IT head

Under the hood

Boring, proven parts, put together carefully.

01Reactive Java (Spring) APINon-blocking from the HTTP request to the database, so one server handles a busy plant comfortably.
02PostgreSQLOpen-source and battle-tested, with full-text search and keyset pagination that stay quick as years of transactions pile up.
03Keycloak single sign-onOpenID Connect, password policy, lock-out, and room to plug in your own identity provider.
04Event streaming (Kafka)Modules react to each other's events: a failed inspection holds a lot, a release reserves stock.
05Object storageAttachments, imports and generated PDFs kept outside the database, with signed links.
06Documented REST API + webhooksIntegrate a weighbridge, an e-commerce store or a BI tool without asking us for permission.
